The SIB nominee for November employee of the month is Sergeant Dominic Casey. Sergeant Casey consistently demonstrates exceptional professionalism, leadership, and dedication across a wide range of assignments. The extent of his responsibilities can easily go unnoticed as he consistently completes all tasks without the need for guidance from his superiors. Sgt. Casey’s responsibilities, in addition to his regular SIB assignment, include background investigations, new officer training, police licensing, Project Lifesaver, and SERT Team Leader.

Sergeant Casey oversees the background investigation process, ensuring that quality candidates are selected to join our agency. He supervises and coordinates these investigations with remarkable attention to detail. In addition, he is instrumental in training new hires, guiding them through the academy process, and ensuring that each recruit is prepared and set up for success.

He also oversees the licensing process for all sworn personnel, a responsibility requiring organization and a deep knowledge of departmental standards as well as State requirements. His management of this process helps maintain the professionalism and compliance of our entire agency.

Sergeant Casey is also second in command of the Project Lifesaver Program for the Sheriff’s Office. His steadfast commitment to community and the safety of vulnerable individuals is demonstrated by his efforts to ensure this program excels. His involvement in this initiative reflects his compassion, responsibility, and genuine desire to serve.

 On top of all his other duties, Sgt. Casey serves as a Team Leader on the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team where his leadership, tactical expertise, and calm decision-making significantly contribute to the team’s readiness and effectiveness. He further extends his impact as a supervisor in the Special Investigations Bureau, providing guidance and operational oversight in complex investigative matters
